"Our deepest fear" and My deepest fears

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? YOU are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure about you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in every one. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our prescence automatically liberates others." by Marianne Williamson , from a Return to Love
I could have written this and I could say this in first person. My deepest fear is not that I am inadequate it is that I am powerful beyond measure. Not because of my strength or personal power but because the God of the universe gives me strength to do the unthinkable. I am tired of playing small. I am tired of shrinking back for the sake of false humility, or fear of enemies. I am no longer going to be disobedient when it comes to the things that have been layed up in my heart to do. This heart, this soul God gave me and I feel a busting out coming on. Fellow family , friends, and otherwise be warned. I KNOW WHO I AM, and I will never again forget it.

Thanks Chemane for this was for me.

I've read that quote before but I thought that it was from someone like Oswald Chambers or something. Good stuff though. :D

I almost posted about that quote recently-- I first heard it in a movie, I can't remember which one-- and it has been popping up everywhere. Now here it is again!
