Thankful Thursday

Hello There Beloved Reader,
Have I ever told you that Thanksgiving is my favorite Holiday?
Well, it is, and I will tell you why.
Because, in every life there will be good days, bad days, and even horrible no good very bad days. But even on those horrible, no good, very bad days if you look closely you can still find something to be thankful for.
I believe with all my heart that there is always, always, always something to be thankful for, and that's why I love the holiday that celebrates gratitude.
I think a thankful heart is contagious, and that is also why I love the link ups on Thankful Thursdays.
So here I am,
One week before the actual DAY of Thanksgiving and I find that I am thankful for being thankful.
Corny as it may sound, I am thankful for my grateful heart.
There are a lot of close friends and even family who are going through some very tough times right now. My heart hurts for them, but their hardships only seem to illuminate my abundant blessings.
I suppose that with every life you can always find someone that has it worse and someone that has it better than you.
And,
I realize it's easy to keep a perspective of gratitude when everything is gravy and all roads lead to mashed potatoes(ha ha, did you like that?)
But, it's those tough moments in life that you make you who you are, and my tough moments have taught me to always, always, always look for the silver lining.
How does the saying go?
"It's not happy people who are thankful, it's Thankful people who are happy"
I think that's how it goes, and I have to say that I totally agree.
With that I give you just a small portion of my list of thanks this morning;
I'm thankful for old friends.
I'm thankful for community.
I'm thankful for pictures.
Oh my goodness would you look at this Stud-Muffin, I mean just look at my Baby, so grown up and cute, with his hand in his pockets all stud like and what not !!
I'm thankful for Fall and the beautiful colors that surround me.
I'm thankful for little kids that are not in double digits yet.
I'm thankful for young adults who are in double digits.
I'm thankful for my "walk and talks" with my Dad, and sister Bean.
I'm thankful for some much needed time with my Giant.
I'm thankful for texting.
I'm thankful for my sewing machine.
I'm thankful for food, really good food.
I'm thankful for Mulled Wine.
I'm thankful for God's never ending faithfulness and love.
I'm thankful for the written word.
I'm thankful for a warm cozy cabin.
I'm thankful for my new tattoo.
I'm thankful for holidays, and menus, and mashed potatoes.
I'm thankful for the abundance that my country has been blessed with.
I'm thankful for "new days, fresh with no mistakes" in them.
I'm thankful for art.
I'm thankful for music.
And I'm thankful for thankfulness.
What are YOU thankful for today on this Thankful Thursday?

An Update In Pictures

Happy Holidays to all who are reading this, from our family to yours. SO thankful for the family and friends that keep up with me through reading this little blog here. To those of you who do mostly read these post for little updates, I know it's going to seem quite crazy, almost totally bonkers to read this post that includes a picture of the newest member of the Scofield family, right after I just posted a complaint about Bella. BUT don't judge me!

It seems the time is just flying by and I can hardly catch up to the rate at which time is traveling now. Can't believe Uncle Jeremy graduates this coming year, and that my daughter Emmers will be an official teenager soon. Jeremy if you are reading this, I am beyond words proud of you and can't wait to hoot, holler, and go crazy nutts on your graduation day.

This Thanksgiving we had the absolute pleasure of hosting 13 people at our dinner table. And what a table it was. When discussing with The Giant how we were going to fit all of these loved ones around our little IKEA table that we bought when we first moved into this tiny cabin he said, "Why don't I just build us a new bigger table?" This he said to me the day before turkey day and the same day that some of our company was arriving that night. I know better to question him on these things, my only concern was the timing.... because we all know timing on Thanksgiving day is everything. Well once again My Giant came to save the day. The New Table that Moses built the day before Thanksgiving is amazing. Still can't believe the skills that boy has.

And Finally the moment you have all been waiting for, Newest Member of the family; Barley Bambino Boo Scofield.

A few favorites from our Thanksgiving holiday

Our family for the first time ever got to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with Moses Mom, Nashelle at her brother's Farm in San Gregorio. Moses Uncle Kay owns 150 acres right outside of San Francisco in a little town called San Gregorio by Half Moon Bay.  This spot on the planet is one of THE most beautiful I have ever seen. We all didn't want to come home. This holiday was a dream come true one because we have always wanted to spend this holiday of food with the best cook in our family which would be Mo's mom and two because where we were able to spend it was a beautiful little oasis for our whole family.
The picture at the top is of Papa Tom and his buddy Isaiah. Isaiah called him "My buddy" all week. It really was so heart healing to see these two together. Papa Tom is the Grandfather I always dreamed of having.  He is a kid magnet because he is just that fun.
The next picture is of the newest member of the family our nieces daughter Isabella. She was so beautiful and I held her the whole time. Well, that is when I could get her away from my girls.
The next pic is of Isaiah feeding the horses and Papa Tom holding onto his shirt so he didn't fall out of the barn.
The last two pics are just a few of this very picture perfect place.
What a treat! Enjoy.
